As we approach Worlds 2023 and the end of the season, teams in the LCS and LEC are starting to plan for the future. Here’s our guide to all roster moves in both LoL leagues.

The LCS Summer split came to a close on August 20 in surprising fashion as NRG beat Cloud9 in the final, while its LEC counterpart wrapped up only on September 10 as G2 Esports beat Fnatic to the title in a battle between old foes in Montpellier.

For many teams in the West, the season has already come to an end, and it’s time to start planning for 2024.

The LCS will have a new face in 2024 in the form of Shopify Rebellion, who acquired TSM’s spot in the league in a reported $10 million deal. TSM are planning to shift their League of Legends operations to another region, with the LPL mooted as the likeliest region.

Meanwhile, rumors are circulating that another LCS team has sold its spot in the league. This means that there could be two new faces in the LCS in 2024, just six months after the league welcomed NRG back and bid farewell to CLG.

The free agency period in the LCS and LEC will kick off after Worlds comes to an end, and that’s when we’ll see the majority of big changes coming through. But even now, players are starting to explore their options for the upcoming season.

October 1:

  • FlyQuest confirm the departure of Korean bot laner Prince, who leaves the organization after just one year.

September 20:

  • Shopify Rebellion announces that it has acquired TSM’s LCS spot and roster.

September 14:

  • KOI has reached an agreement with Larssen to renew the mid laner’s contract until the end of 2027, Blix.gg reports.

September 9:

  • FlyQuest part ways with mid laner VicLa and head coach SSONG.

September 5:

  • Immortals support Treatz says that he has been given permission to listen to offers from other teams for the 2024 season.
  • 100 Thieves will promote 16-year-old academy top laner Sniper for the 2024 LCS season, according to a report from Blix.gg.

August 29:

  • Immortals remove Turkish mid laner Bolulu from the Global Contract Database.
  • Evil Geniuses part ways with all Challengers players except jungler Armao.

August 21:

  • TSM remove Korean mid laner Ruby from the Global Contract Database.
  • Team Vitality parts ways with Polish jungler Selfmade, who had been on the team’s bench since June 2022.

August 18:

  • Heretics strategic coach SeeEl has been given permission to explore his options ahead of the 2024 season. He joined Heretics at the end of 2022 after a year with Rogue as an assistant coach.

August 11:

  • An LCS team that is not TSM has sold its spot in the league, content creator Daniel ‘dGon’ Gonzales has claimed on a recent episode of the ‘Facecheck’ podcast.

August 3:

  • Insanity is released from his TSM contract following the team’s elimination from LCS Summer, according to the Global Contract Database.
