The release of Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 patch and the Phantom Liberty DLC, gave the game an influx of new and returning players to the Sci-Fi RPG thanks to key changes and a ton of extra content. Here’s everything you need to know about the player count for the game in 2023.
While Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t get off to the best start when it first launched in 2020, CD Projekt Red has since improved the experience with some major patches, including the 1.6 update, and now the highly anticipated 2.0 patch and Phantom Liberty DLC.
The game received a big boost in players when the 1.6 patch was released, and the same happened following the 2.0 update and the Phantom Liberty DLC, which overhauled a number of the RPG’s systems including improved AI and police encounters, and the addition of vehicle combat.

CD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077 2.0 and Phantom Liberty player count tracker
At the time of writing, according to Steamcharts.com, Cyberpunk 2077 has had an average of 78,446.2 players in the past 30 days, which represents a 37% gain.
This was a huge increase compared to August 2023 where the average was just over 16,400, and September, when it climbed up to 57, 259.7 ahead of the release of both the 2.0 patch and the Phantom Liberty DLC.
The RPG had previously seen a huge increase in players following the game’s 1.6 update which was released in September 2022, as well as the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Netflix series which was a big success for the streaming service.
