If we take a look at the last 30 days, we have seen the average number of Battlefield 4 players remain stable at 1,060, almost identical to August’s average of 1,070.

Both of these figures show that the game is still able to retain its player count with consistent figures in the 1,000-2,000 range well after Battlefield 2042’s launch.

Previously, during the build-up to Battlefield 2042 back in October 2021, the fourth main game in the series saw a huge boost in its all-time peak with 12,342 players enjoying the game simultaneously on Steam.

The figures then dropped drastically by the end of November 2021, with the average player count dropping to 2,237. While the initial boom may have passed, maintaining a four-figure player count is an impressive feat for a ten-year-old game that doesn’t receive new content.

How does Battlefield 4’s player count compare to other BF games?

Following a lengthy decline, player count numbers for Battlefield 2042 have recovered and remained stable at around 7,500 average players since April 2023. Its annual peak came in March 2023 when 2042 averaged a solid 11,100 average concurrent players.

Some players are still enjoying Battlefield V instead, with the game having an average concurrent player count upward of 7,000 and a peak player count of almost 20,000.
