Here’s everything we know about Season 6 of Cobra Kai, the next chapter of The Karate Kid spinoff on Netflix, from its possible release date, cast members, plot, and other details.

Cobra Kai Season 5 arrived on Netflix in September 2022, ushering an exciting new chapter for Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence.

Joining them on their quest to overthrow Terry Silver is Karate Kid 2 villain-turned-hero, Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumuto).

However, it seems that the Karate Kid saga isn’t over just yet – here’s everything you need to know about Cobra Kai Season 6.

Is there a Cobra Kai Season 6 release date?

Currently there is no official release date, but it’s likely we could see Cobra Kai Season 6 by the end of 2023, if not early 2024.

The time between Season 4 and Season 5 certainly surprised fans across the world, making it the shortest amount of downtime between new episodes on Netflix. However, we do know that the show’s creators are hard at work on crafting the next set of adventures.

Speaking with US Weekly last October, series lead Ralph Macchio explained that “it hasn’t officially been picked up. I need to say that because that is the truth. We’re feeling pretty good that we’ll get to continue the show and let it evolve and land when it needs to.”

The Karate Kid star clarified “it’s gotta be entertaining and organic and I think there’s plenty of places to go every season. Whether you bring in Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko or Elizabeth Shue in season 3.

“You [also] have Thomas Ian Griffith – what a great job he’s doing. Karate Kid 3 was never, ever my favorite of those three movies. Now it’s bearing such great fruit and storytelling and refined versions of characters.”

In 2023, it was confirmed that Cobra Kai will be returning for Season 6 – but the news is bittersweet, as it will also be the show’s final season.

The team behind it released a letter to the fans, which reads: “While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger. This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.

“In the meantime, strap in for the BIGGEST SEASON OF COBRA KAI YET. And let today be a celebration of all that’s come, as well as all that’s still left to be told. We couldn’t do it without you.”

Cobra Kai Season 6 cast: Which cast members are returning?

We do know that Ralph Macchio and William Zabka will be returning as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence respectively in Cobra Kai Season 6. We also expect to see the return of regulars such as Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser and Jacob Bertrand.

Terry Silver, portrayed by Thomas Ian Griffith is likely to return too, as our heroes and villains gear up for the Sekai Taikai tournament.

The future of Peyton List remains uncertain, however, as the actress said to Variety: “We’re just taking it season by season, but we all look so drastically different each season. I have no idea. I don’t know what they’re gonna do.”

“I would say by next season we graduate, but I don’t know if they would take it past that.”

Cobra Kai Season 6 plot: What will it be about?

Plot details for Cobra Kai Season 6 are under wraps while the creators formulate the future of the show.

However, we do know that Season 5 has laid the foundations for the biggest tournament in Cobra Kai’s history. Yes, the Sekai Taikai is far bigger than the All Valley Karate Tournament. With Terry Silver eager to take the dojo’s brand up to a global scale, it will take every ounce of courage and every Miyagi-Do teaching to sweep Silver’s leg once and for all.

William Zabka and Ralph Macchio are both keen to make a return to the big screen too, with a trilogy of movies proposed for the future.

While the trailer mostly focuses on the first five seasons of Cobra Kai, along with the events of the Karate Kid movies, there are some hints as to what is to come in the “final fight” of Season 6.
